- Family: Araceae
- Growth style/Plant Type: Large, evergreen climber that utilizes thick aerial roots to scale supporting trees or moss poles.
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight indoors; prefers partial to deep shade outdoors to prevent harsh South African sun from scorching the leaves.
- Water: Water moderately when the top few centimeters of soil dry out during spring and summer; reduce watering drastically during cold winter months.
- Soil: Rich, loose, well-draining potting mixture or garden soil high in organic matter.
- Humidity/Temperature: Prefers high humidity and warm temperatures between 18°C and 30°C; sensitive to frost and must be kept indoors in cold interior regions like the Highveld.
