Cultivation & Care

Family: Bromeliaceae (The Bromeliad family, making it a close cousin to the pineapple!).

Growth style/Plant Type: Epiphytic perennial; a true "air plant" that grows in hanging, chain-like clumps without parasitic roots.

Light: Bright, filtered indirect sunlight or partial shade; thrives under a dappled canopy but should be protected from harsh, direct midday sun.

Water: Mist thoroughly 2–3 times a week, or submerge the entire plant in water for 10–15 minutes once a week, allowing it to dry completely afterward.

Soil: None; this unique plant absorbs all its nutrients and water through specialized silver scales (trichomes) on its leaves.

Humidity/Temperature: Prefers high humidity (50%+) and warm temperatures between 15°C and 32°C; protect it from freezing drafts and frost.
